I had heard great things but was sadly let down. While there were two staff who displayed professionalism, most of the staff were disinterested and s-l-o-w. We received a number of drinks that were incorrectly mixed, our son was served gnocchi that contained ceramic chips. We were told that it must have been his tooth. No - the pieces were not teeth - they were ceramic.
The shanks were gritty. The fish was ordinary. I was also billed twice.

We were really excited to hear that a seven day a week bistro for lunch and dinner will be opening soon and it was only less then 15 minutes away from home.
The bistro is located behind the pub and car park can be access on the back street.
We called on Friday night to book for table of three on Saturday and we were kept on hold for a little while because they were having trouble fitting us in. I was told it's a full house on Friday and Saturday nights.

Food: Food was great, my daughter ate homemade potato gnocchi with Napoli sauce, she allowed my hubby and I to share half a gnocchi and it was terrific. The kid's meals were very generous and had different variety.
For entree Hubby the soup (I thought it was a very small serving), my daughter and I shared the char grilled garlic bread which was wonderful.
For mains hubby had a grilled porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce and vegetables. I ordered the Grilled Atlantic salmon with chips and salad. The salmon was grilled to perfection, my only complain was there was a little too much salt on the skin and it wasn't served with lemon or a sauce, however it was still very yummy.
My daughter also ordered desert which was rhubarb & sour cherry muffin which she shared it with her dad.
Price: It's not the cheapest place however the quality of a "pub/bistro" meal was fantastic. We paid $85.00 which includes, two entrees, two mains, one kid's meal, one desert and non alcoholic drinks.
Ambiance: The place was beautifully decorated, the bar is located in front of the hotel, the bistro is at the back. They also have an upstairs area which is hired out for private functions. Outside the bistro area is outdoor seating areas and the thing my daughter loved best was a playground.
My complain about the playground was it's right next to smoking areas and there wasn't a gate between the playground and car park, so a child could easily run out on the road.
Service: This was the let down, most of the waiters and waitress who waited on us was inexperienced, my daughter finished her meal and he said he would be back to collect her plate but didn't return until 40 mins later.
We ordered out food at 7.30 p.m. and the mains came to our table at 9.00 p.m. When we asked for the bill the woman was more interested collecting our plates then getting our bill.
We waited 20 minutes in a line to pay our bill because the woman at the register didn't know how to work the cash register. We were asked to fill this small form in (name, address, e-mail and phone numbers) when I ask the woman at the counter what it's for, she told me "I don't know" (hello you work there). So I didn't give it back to her (I don't want to be on someone's mailing list)
Overall, we will be back here, maybe give it a few months to sort out the problems with the inexperience staff, however we have no complains about the food and ambiance.
Star Rating (out of 5): 4 for food, 2.5 for Service, 5 for Ambulance, 4 for Value
