I have been enjoying the brekkie roll here for ages. Delicious. The mayonnaise is so rich and creamy. Good strong coffee tops off the experience. Their special muffins usually cover one savoury or one sweeter version...and they are mighty good. There is a great selection of tasty prepared salads and one of the few places I know who does shanghai eggs...fried eggs with oyster sauce and scallions. It's been one week since my last confession father

I have to agree on the 5 stars for this place, it probably would have been 4 without the most awesome coffee I've had in Melbourne.

Don't get me wrong, the food was really very tasty. The lack of table service is a bit of a let down, because the place is quite small. Alas, they make us get up off our fat, lazy arses and order at the counter. Maybe people order more food that way? The display of tasty morsels is rather appetising.

Anyway, I had something I don't ... read more remember the name of, but for all intents and purposes, it was a vege lasagne. And probably the best one I've had in a long time, excluding any home made ones I may have had. Other choices included some nice, thick, tasty french toast with, if my sometimes useless memory serves me correctly, ricotta and berries.

We were "time poor" when we arrived, yet the service was quick, our food was on the table, and eaten before we had to run out.

I'll most certainly be back.

PS: If nothing else, go here and drink the coffee.

I probably would have given arcadia four stars, but for one thing: the coffee. Absolutely, hands down, the best coffee I've had in several years. Seriously.

The food was really good, the service was prompt, and mostly friendly (I say mostly, because there was one person who could have handled questions a little better, but out of five staff, that's pretty good).

All in all it was a highly pleasant experience, well needed after a day of bad service.
